MetaMe: Weekly Round Up

This is a post by me about other posts by me which are, essentially, about me.

I also write for Babble. Most of you already know that because you regularly head over there to defend my honor. Preesh.

On Monday Ellen turned 5. Can you believe I've only done about 5 "friend parties" in 15 years of being a mom?

On Tuesday I asked if eating organic food makes you a jerk. Stop arguing with me--it only proves my point.

I listened to Neil Gaiman's commencement address on Wednesday and starting thinking about the kind of advice I should give my kids about their future.  It's the new frontier in parenting, for me.

I posted twice on Thursday! This is unprecedented in my Babble career. But I had to share a commercial I love and reminisce about 6th grade graduation. Do parenting milestones ever get old for you? At least click over to see a cute picture of Maggie at her kindergarten graduation.

It's Friday and since we're partyin' partyin' (yeah) I figured, why not reflect on death and the legacy you leave behind?  If you want to know the truth, I started out trying to make a slideshow about rompers. Didn't take.

  1. I'd be interested to read your list of other things (slideshows, whatnot) that also "didn't take." I love it when you post twice in one day. It's like I'm doing my job.

  2. I love your blog! I also just wanted to share that perhaps the worst (best?) thing my husband and I have done as parents was teach our two year old to yell "yeah!" every time we say "partyin', partyin'". (which is often).

YAY! All really good thoughts, KC. I am pretty disappointed that we didn't get a lunch date, but everyday I was in The UT I was sick and that's just not the kind of souvenir I wanted to leave you from Montana. So next trip. Enjoy your summer! We still got 2 wks of school, and I am kind of glad about that. --Jamie
